Dates
The 25th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, ACEM 08, is to be held from Sunday 23rd until Thursday 27th November 2008, the theme being Leadership in Emergency Medicine. The meeting will be the 25th Silver Jubilee celebration of the first ACEM Scientific Meeting held in Perth in 1984.
Location
New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, is the location for the meeting and it will be held in the city’s premiere conference venue, the Wellington Convention Centre (WCC.) WCC is located in the city’s central business district and is within walking distance of all the amenities you could possibly want. Well known for being such a compact city, it is vibrant and picturesque, sitting nestled around the stunning Wellington Harbour – a social programme will ensure delegates and partners can make the most of this.
With the South Island only a ferry ride away and a short train ride that can take you to the acclaimed vineyards of the scenic Wairarapa region, there is also an abundance of things to do outside of Wellington. More information about getting to and around Wellington and about the multitude of activities on offer can be seen on the Wellington Sightseeing and Getting Here and Around pages on this site.
